Dr. Rosen grew up in Bayside, NY. He always had a passion for science and a deep love for animals. Dr. Rosen started volunteering at an animal hospital at age 15 and quickly realized veterinary medicine would be a lifelong career for him. Dr. Rosen graduated with a B.A. in biology from Wesleyan University in 1977. He earned his veterinary degree from Araneta University in 1981. Dr. Rosen has been with North Shore Animal Hospital for the past 35 years. His love of animals is shared by his beautiful wife, Mia, and his two children, Alex and Michelle. Dr. Rosen's outside interests include baseball, basketball, reading, and writing. Dr. Rosen published his first book, So You Think You Know About Cats, in 2006. His furry family at home includes 5 cats: Joe, Peach, Lily, Will, Rosie, and his 2 dogs, Jessie and Daisy.
Dr. Robert Gooden was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He has always had a fascination with life science and a passion to improve the human-animal bond so that both may enjoy a healthy and happy life together. The decision to become a veterinarian was natural. Dr. Gooden attended the University of Delaware as an Animal and Food Science major. He then attended the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine, receiving his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Professionally, he enjoys general practice and improving the lives of cats, dogs, rabbits, and rodents. When off duty, he enjoys going to museums, traveling, art, and fitness.
Dr. Alex Parisien was born and raised in NY. He always loved animals but never imagined he would one day be a doctor! He was an actor in NY and Los Angeles for over 10 years, but then looked to a more stable career path. After volunteering at a Vet Clinic, he attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine followed by a clinical year at the University of Illinois. He then completed two years at the University of the West Indies School of Veterinary Medicine in Trinidad, where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with honors in 2023. His special interests include internal medicine, pain management, and learning more about exotics and wildlife when he can. Outside of work, he can be found watching Netflix, traveling, or spending quality time with family and loved ones including his 'fur-son' TED the cat!
Jen grew up in the Whitestone/Bayside area. From a young age her love for animals was very apparent. North Shore Animal Hospital was a familiar place even as a young child because Jen’s grandparents and parents brought their pets here.
With a strong enthusiasm for medicine and a deep love for all animals, Jen knew she would have a career in the animal field. She attended LaGuardia Community College and received a degree in animal science as well as becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
Jen has been part of the NSAH team for the last 24 years! She started as an intern at North Shore, then worked as Tech, was promoted to Head Technician, and now is the current Practice Manager.
Outside of work, Jen enjoys animal rescue/feeding strays, being in the sun and ocean at the beach, gardening, and any kind of sport/fitness/hiking activities!
Esmeralda comes to us with 5 years of Grooming experience, a tremendous love for animals, and a true passion for providing top-notch care and styling!
Valerie has been part of the North Shore family since 2002. A lover of animals, having multiple fur babies herself. Valerie works with our team of front desk ladies daily to square away your needs.
My name is Keady and I've been working at NSAH as both a CSR and Veterinary Assistant for almost 2 years! I'm currently studying at Hunter College and will soon be applying to veterinary schools. My goal is to use the knowledge and skills I've obtained here to become a veterinarian. I love working with animals and helping them in any way I can. In my free time, I love traveling, trying new food, going to Yankee games, and spending time with friends. I look forward to working with you and your furry family!
My name is Michael Kang, and I’ve been at NSAH for 4 years. While I'm not at work I'm at home creating grand stories and casting powerful spells with my friends during our Dungeons & Dragons game nights. I also enjoy watching all sorts of movies and learning about random history facts. I like to unwind with either a good game or a nice science fiction book after a long day of work.
